Autel Expands Nissan CONSULT 4 Diagnostics and ADAS Calibration Access
New software support gives independent shops access to additional diagnostic and calibration functions on supported newer Nissan vehicles.
Newer Nissans have been a headache for independent shops. Nissan began adding security-gateway protections to select North American models starting with the 2020 model year, and those protections lock out certain bidirectional functions unless the technician, shop, and tool are all authenticated.
Autel’s latest software release is aimed at closing that gap, which could keep more Nissan work in your bays instead of the dealer’s.
What Is New: Expanded Nissan CONSULT 4 Access
With the Nissan_V7.40 update released on September 9, 2026, Autel now supports CONSULT 4 bidirectional diagnostics and ADAS calibration access on newer Nissan vehicles. CONSULT 4 is Nissan’s newer web-based diagnostic software, and supporting its protected functions meant Autel had to build and validate a reliable authorization process for the newer electronic architectures. Autel says the update followed a two-and-a-half-year engineering effort.
Access is supported on the following Autel tablets, including the ADAS-upgraded versions of each:
- MaxiSYS Ultra S2 and MaxiSYS Ultra
- MS919S2 and MS919
- MS909S2 and MS909
Secure access runs through AutoAuth, an independently operated service that works with automakers and aftermarket tool providers to verify shops, technicians, and tools. CONSULT 4 debuted on the 2023 Nissan Ariya and is now used on a growing number of newer Nissan platforms, and supported functions vary by vehicle model and year.
Autel publishes a vehicle coverage list you can check for the specific functions available on your vehicle. Always confirm support on your tablet before quoting a job.
Proven in the Field: A 2026 Nissan Rogue Calibration
Autel demonstrated the update live at Auto Glass Week 2026 in San Antonio, where its ADAS team used the new MA800 mobile ADAS calibration system and a compatible Autel tablet to calibrate a 2026 Nissan Rogue.
We covered the frame itself in our MA800 first look. It builds on the MA600 platform with dual-laser positioning, mirror alignment, and independent pitch, roll, and yaw adjustment. It also includes validation checks for target height, target distance, and vehicle-to-frame distance before you start a calibration.

Expanded access gives qualified independent technicians another option for handling supported Nissan diagnostic and ADAS procedures in-house.
What This Means for Your Shop
Late-model Nissans can carry forward and rear-facing radar, cameras, and Around View Monitor systems, and those may need calibration after windshield replacement, collision repair, suspension or alignment work, or component replacement.
Every time one of those jobs gets sent to the dealer or a third party, you give up time, control of the repair timeline, and revenue. Expanded access gives qualified independent technicians another option for handling supported procedures themselves, which keeps more of the repair under your roof and in front of your customer.
What You Need Before You Start
To use the Nissan CONSULT 4 functions, you need an active Autel software subscription, an AutoAuth account with Nissan access, and an internet connection.
Full ADAS calibrations also require the applicable Autel ADAS calibration software, equipment, targets, and accessories for the procedure you are performing. As always, verify coverage for the specific year, model, trim, system, and procedure on your tablet before you begin.
