The Equalizer Ultrasonic Leak Detector - ULF481 is a professional auto glass diagnostic tool designed to quickly and accurately identify leaks around newly installed windshields and other vehicle glass. Using ultrasonic sound waves, the ULF481 helps auto glass technicians locate potential air or water leaks without relying on time-consuming traditional water testing methods.
The system uses a transmitter placed inside the vehicle and a handheld receiver operated around the perimeter of the glass installation. When ultrasonic sound passes through a gap or improperly sealed area, the receiver detects the change and produces a louder tone through the included headphones. This allows technicians to pinpoint the problem area and address sealing issues before they develop into customer complaints or water intrusion problems.
For additional visual confirmation, the receiver features an indicator light that changes from green to red when it detects a leak. This combination of audible and visual feedback makes the Equalizer ULF481 a practical solution for verifying the integrity of windshield installations and identifying areas where the glass bond or seal may not be secure.
The ultrasonic technology is particularly useful because the sound waves do not pass through glass, rubber, or metal. This helps technicians isolate openings around the installation perimeter and determine where a seal may be compromised. The ULF481 is therefore well suited for professional auto glass replacement shops, mobile glass technicians, and automotive service operations that require an efficient method for post-installation leak testing.
The Equalizer ULF481 is powered by 9-volt batteries, with batteries included, and comes packaged in a convenient carrying case for storage and transportation. Equalizer's product catalog also lists a one-year warranty for the ULF481.
