If your shop is doing radar calibrations, you need a trihedral reflector — that triangle-shaped cone target that bounces the radar signal back during calibration. There are a few options on the market right now, and the differences between them are significant enough to affect how your calibrations go day to day. Here's how the four main players stack up: the Autel radar cone kit, the Opus IVS ADAS Trihedral, the Launch 3in1, and the Topdon LAC05-03.
Autel Radar Cone: The Most Versatile Option
The Autel setup is where things get interesting. The Autel Corner Reflector Stand only (CSC0800) unit comes in at a competitive price point and includes a built-in height measurement tape, two adjustable feet for leveling, two built-in bubble levels, and a built-in laser pointer for precise height settings. That laser is a genuine advantage over the Topdon, it takes the guesswork out of height placement and keeps your results consistent across technicians.

Where Autel really separates itself is in expandability. Three additional cone sizes are available separately — the CSC0802-10, CSC0802-11, and CSC0802-12 — giving you coverage across a wide range of OEM requirements. And with the addition of the Autel Toyota LiDAR Reflector target, the unit can also handle older Toyota Lidar calibrations, which opens up a revenue stream that none of the other tools on this list touches.

A few things worth knowing: the additional cones are sold separately and require the upgraded height laser (CSC0802-13) to work properly, which also needs to be purchased separately. Swapping out the height laser requires an Allen wrench. And like the Topdon, the base has a relatively small footprint, so it can be knocked over if you're not careful. The lasers also run on batteries, so keeping spares on hand is part of the routine.

We're putting together an Autel radar cone bundle that includes the base unit along with the key add-on, stay tuned for that.
Opus IVS ADAS Trihedral: Purpose-Built for Asian Nameplates
The Opus IVS ADAS Trihedral takes a different approach. At $2,750 it's the premium option, and it's built to OEM specifications for Acura, Genesis, Honda, Hyundai/Kia, Mazda, Toyota/Lexus, and Mitsubishi. If those makes make up a significant portion of your radar work, and for most shops they do, the Trihedral is designed specifically to handle them.

It ships with four cone sizes included, no additional purchases required. Dual laser aiming covers both horizontal and vertical alignment, giving you more precise positioning than a single height laser alone. The built-in height measuring tape is integrated directly into the stand. And for blind spot monitoring calibrations, the cone assembly pivots and rotates independently from the base, so you can adjust the cone angle for BSM work without repositioning the entire stand, a real workflow advantage if BSM volume is part of your regular business. The kit also comes with soft-sided storage bags to keep everything protected and organized.
The tradeoff is that the Trihedral is a cone-style specialist. It doesn't do flat-target radar calibrations like the Launch 3in1 or Lidar work the way an expanded Autel setup can. It also uses multiple laser units, so battery management is part of keeping it ready to go, and the kit has enough individual components that staying organized matters. There's also no leveling adjustment on the stand, so a reasonably flat floor is part of the equation.
Launch 3in1: The Most Complete Calibration Package
The Launch Tech Radar 3in1 earns its name. While the other tools on this list are cone-only setups, the Launch handles three distinct radar calibration types: trihedral-style, Doppler-style, and three-position reflector plate calibrations. For shops that encounter a wide variety of radar systems, that versatility in a single kit is hard to overlook.

Setup is straightforward, the adjustable feet make leveling easy, and a laser pointer built into the radar mounting block handles height positioning. A height measurement scale on the vertical post keeps things precise, and swapping between the different targets is quick. The kit is well-equipped out of the box, including a five-line laser, AUX mirror, laser reflector, L-shaped bracket, plumb line, and tape measure. Storage is covered with soft cases for all the components, which is a nice touch for shops that move equipment around.
The main considerations: the Launch 3in1 is the priciest option on this list, and the package is on the larger side, which is worth thinking about if you're running a mobile operation or working out of a service van. It also comes with only one cone size, which is a limitation it shares with the Topdon. And while the built-in laser handles height, an additional two or three-axis laser and reflector would round out the positioning capability even further.
Topdon LAC05-03: The Entry-Level Option
The Topdon LAC05-03 is the most basic of the four. It comes with a single cone size, which is a real limitation given how much radar cone requirements vary across makes and models. There's no laser pointer for setting height, so positioning relies entirely on the built-in tape measure and your own judgment. On the plus side, it has three adjustable feet for leveling, a feature the Launch 3in1 lacks, along with two built-in bubble levels. The price point is the lowest of the group.

The problem is that a small base makes it easy to knock over, and with only one cone size and no laser guidance, you're going to hit walls quickly as your calibration volume grows. It's a tool that gets the job done in a narrow range of situations, but it doesn't have much room to grow with your shop.
Which One Is Right for Your Shop?
If you're just getting started with radar calibrations and budget is the primary concern, the Topdon gets you in the door. But its single cone size and lack of laser guidance mean you'll outgrow it fast.
If you want flexibility and long-term expandability, including Lidar capability on older Toyotas, the Autel setup is the strongest all-around option. The ability to add cone sizes and calibration types as your volume grows makes it a smart investment that scales with your business.
If your shop needs to handle trihedral, Doppler, and reflector plate calibrations all from one kit, the Launch 3in1 covers that ground better than anything else on this list.
And if your shop runs heavy volume on Honda, Toyota, Hyundai/Kia, and the other supported Asian nameplates and you want a dedicated radar cone tool that's ready to go out of the box without additional purchases, the Opus IVS Trihedral delivers that. Four cones included, dual laser alignment, BSM pivot, it's built for shops that do this work every day.
