What can all of these tablets do?
- Access all modules in all systems
- Automatically scan VIN and License Plates with camera
- Authorized FCA access with AuthAuth account
- US, Asian & European 1996 and newer passenger / light duty; some medium duty
- All 10 OBD test modes: live & freeze frame / Enhanced Mode 6
- ADASUPGRADE & frame kit purchase required for ADAS calibrations
Can these tablets perform calibrations out of the box?
You will require a calibration frame such as the IA900, MA600, or IA800 to perform ADAS Calibrations.
If you purchased an ADAS Tablet Package, such as MSULTRAADAS, you have the software upgrade that allows you to perform calibrations.
If you have a tablet without the software upgrade, such as MS909, you must purchase the ADASUPGRADE software upgrade in order to perform calibrations.
However, complete ADAS Calibration packages ending in "T" come with a tablet, and will have the software upgrade already installed (e.g. the IA900AST package)
Why do I need the VCMI over VCI?
- VCI (Vehicle Communication Interface):
- The VCI is a device that facilitates communication between a vehicle's onboard systems and a diagnostic tool or scanner.
- It connects to the vehicle's OBD-II (On-Board Diagnostics) port and allows the diagnostic tool to retrieve information from the vehicle's Engine Control Unit (ECU) and other systems.
- VCIs are essential for conducting comprehensive vehicle diagnostics, reading trouble codes, and performing various tests and functions.
- VCMI (Vehicle Communication and Measurement Interface):
- VCMI typically refers to a more advanced version of a VCI, incorporating additional functionalities beyond standard communication.
- In addition to communication, a VCMI might have measurement capabilities, allowing technicians to perform various measurements and tests on the vehicle's systems. These include: Oscilloscope, Multimeter, Waveform Generator, CAN BUS Check
- These additional diagnostic tools allow you to dive deep into what might be faulting in an ADAS system. Be it a faulty wire or sensor, they allow you to verify the integrity of electric signals.
